Hikers

Published annually, the Value of Tourism in British Columbia summarizes information on the economic value the tourism industry contributes to the province. This publication summarizes 10 years of tourism revenue, gross domestic product, and business and employment data. Visitor volume and market origin data are also summarized.

White water rafting in BC

This monthly publication summarizes customs entries data to British Columbia and Canada from selected markets of origin. The International Visitor Arrivals publication includes information for both the particular month and year-to-date, and includes percentage changes over the same period of the previous year.

This publication reports on international overnight customs entries to BC:

  • International overnight customs entries to BC include international visitors to Canada who crossed Canada Customs in the province of BC. For example, a visitor from China, who lands in Vancouver and then boards a domestic flight to Toronto, is included. These reports do not include international visitors to Canada who crossed Canada Customs in another province and then visited BC. For example, a visitor from the UK, who lands in Calgary and drives to BC, is not included.

The Tourism Indicators publication includes key tourism statistics such as international visitor arrivals data, provincial room revenue, commercial restaurant receipts, provincial and regional occupancy rates and average daily room rates, regional airports, ferries, and convention centres.

The Tourism Indicators data tables are updated monthly.

Date refers to the month of publication.
