Ctrip livestreaming – DBC China, alongside Destination Canada and Destination Ontario in-market offices, recently worked with Ctrip.com, China’s leading OTA, launching a series of consumer-facing winter season-focused livestreaming programs. On three consecutive Fridays, each partner livestreamed a one-hour program in Ctrip’s Shanghai-based studio, which has garnered great success. DBC’s program on December 1st achieved 335K viewers, 166K likes, 8K comments and 4.5K forwards. To drive sales conversion, the program also featured 300 coupons at price of RMB 0.1, which could be redeemed as RMB 100 in future BC hotel/package bookings. All coupons were sold out immediately after the program started, reflecting the high interests in BC destination from the viewers.
BC ski exposure on nationwide conference – Jodie Hu attended China International Ice and Snow Tourism Development Conference earlier this week, promoting BC ski tourism to 200+ guests from ski industry nationwide. The conference was organized by Zhangjiakou, the co-hosting city of Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, with the purpose to drive the trade and tourism communications between China and global destinations. In addition to the 20-minute presentation, the onsite backdrop of BC ski destination introduction, as well as post-event media interviews, further helped enhance the awareness of BC as a world-class winter/ski destination.
Winter trade webinar – DBC China delivered a winter product webinar on Destination Canada’s travel trade platform on November 22nd. It was the 2nd online travel trade-facing webinar that DBC delivered this year, following the first sustainable travel webinar in May. A total of 113 key clients attended the webinar.
