The BC Destination Management Organization (BCDMOA) has announced a new Chair and Officers for the 2024-2025 term.
Colin Carson (Tourism Prince George) will take the reins from Nancy Small (Tourism Richmond) who served as Chair for the past 7 years. Over the years, Nancy Small was extremely active in raising the profile of the BCDMOA through her active engagement with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, Destination BC, go2HR, BCHA and TIABC as well as served on the provincial Tourism Review Committee and Tourism Emergency Management Committee.
“It is an honour and a privilege to be promoted to the position of Chair and accept the challenge of leading the organization in delivering on the goals of our new strategic plan. I’d like to express my gratitude to Nancy and the entire Board of Directors for their volunteer leadership and dedication in ensuring the BCDMOA focus and strategy continues to raise awareness of the value of community-level destination management organizations to BC’s visitor economy,” noted Chair, Colin Carson.
Nancy will assume the role of Immediate Past Chair. Also appointed to the executive team is Kelley Glazer (Destination Osoyoos) in her role as Treasurer. In addition to the executive team, 4 members were elected to the board during the BCDMOA AGM; Gerardo Corro (Tourism New Westminster), Jikke Gyorki (Tourism Fernie), Ian Lobb (Tourism Oliver) and Lesley Weeks (Tourism Squamish), who is returning for her 2nd term.

Established in 2008, the BCDMOA is a non-profit society advocating for over 50 community-based destination marketing and management organizations. A respected industry leader, its diverse membership represents a range of communities in terms of size and scope, with over $100 million in spending on strategic tourism marketing and management projects.
