As part of the Explore BC COVID-19 recovery campaign, Destination BC has been seeking out creative partnerships to reach a wide variety of audiences and encourage even more people to get out and support tourism businesses throughout the province. With the upcoming season cancelled, we recently partnered with the BC Lions to send three players to spend some of their newfound free time exploring BC, to share their experiences on the team’s channels, and to encourage British Columbians to re-discover their home province.
From a cultural experience with Talaysay Tours, to a scenic Harbour Air flight to the capital and stand-up paddle boarding lessons with the Gyro Beach Board Shop, the players enjoyed a full 4-day itinerary throughout Vancouver and Victoria. Not only was the trip shared on social media channels from the BC Lions and Destination BC, but CHEK News also joined in on the fun at Axe & Grind in Victoria for a live spot on the evening news. Thanks to Joel Figueroa, Claudell Louis, and James Lyell for sharing their adventures with us, and a huge thanks to Tourism Vancouver, Destination Greater Victoria, and all of the tourism businesses who helped make this trip a success.
