Destination BC China recently partnered with the prestigious Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour China Exhibition to promote Rainforest to Rockies among China’s growing community of outdoor explorers. Recognized globally as the “Outdoor Oscars,” the Banff Festival has captivated more than 20 million outdoor enthusiasts across 20+ Chinese cities since 2010, making it a cultural mainstay for adventure lovers.
Running from April to June 2025, this co-branding campaign brings Rainforest to Rockies to life across four key cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Chengdu—through a suite of high-impact activations:
Social storytelling tailored for outdoor adventure enthusiasts in China.
Immersive Rainforest to Rockies experience zones at screenings.
Pre-screen video features promoting Rainforest to Rockies.
Themed post-screening events including Destination BC-hosted presentations, guest speakers, and prize draws.
Amplifying reach and engagement, Destination BC China has partnered with Air Canada and 6renyou Travel, offering event attendees curated travel package information and bookings through on-site enquiry desks at each city’s festival location.
The tour debuted in Beijing April 19, 2025, attracting more than 200 attendees to a Destination BC-hosted post-screening celebration. The event featured a Rainforest to Rockies brand showcase, a keynote by award-winning filmmaker, Fan Lixin, and a grand prize draw for round-trip travel to Vancouver.
With two full weekends of screenings ahead, Beijing is expected to engage over 3,000 attendees—setting the stage for upcoming events in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Chengdu.
