This month, Destination BC grew its partnership with leading travel marketing technology provider, CrowdRiff, to maximize efficiency, authenticity, and timeliness in content curation.
The consumer demand and algorithm prioritization for vertical stories and short-form video on social media channels has continued to soar. In tandem, so has the prominence of the creator economy. Given the scale and diversity of places, experiences, and people in BC, as well as the short production windows required to produce the volume of content needed to keep pace with demand, Destination BC is working to a build a new network of content creators across the province through CrowdRiff’s Localhood vertical stories platform – known as the Creator Network Program.
The network will work with Destination BC on an ongoing, as-needed basis to create short-form, authentic video content about their local communities, which can then be repurposed and shared on Destination BC’s consumer digital channels to drive active consideration of British Columbia as a destination of choice. Once this content is published as vertical stories in Localhood, they will be indexable in Google Search under the avatar and personal brand of each creator. The program also enables Destination BC to elevate the voices and stories of underrepresented communities in BC by ensuring that the Creator Network is representative of the diverse population in BC, and celebrates the unique perspective and lived experience of each creator.
