Destination BC is pleased to welcome Rebecca Wilson-Mah to our Board of Directors.
Rebecca Wilson-Mah, EdD, CPHR is an associate professor in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management and program head for the MA in Tourism Management at Royal Roads University. Drawing on her education and personal and professional experience, she strives to create participatory and inclusive approaches to learning and problem solving. Wilson-Mah is an award-winning case writer and reviewer. She researches and writes cases that convey real life organizational problems for students to analyze and resolve. Rebecca’s research interests include communities of practice, collaborative learning, and regenerative tourism experiences.
Prior to joining Royal Roads University, Rebecca held leadership roles at Tourism BC, The Fairmont Empress Hotel and Camosun College. These experiences in tourism, hospitality and education amplify her commitment to applied, accessible and authentic education at all stages of life and career. As a young person, Rebecca came to Victoria, Canada in 1992 and she is grateful to live here with her family.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Birmingham, an MSc in Human Resource Management from Sheffield Hallam University, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Liverpool. Rebecca is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).
