In February, Destination BC promoted the province to German media and travel trade to keep BC top of mind for consideration in future travel.
From February 16-18, the Destination BC team participated in Destination Canada’s “First Dates with Canada”, a three-day virtual event to connect Team Canada partners with key account tour operators and Canada Specialist members. On the first two days, destination marketing organizations presented to tour operators on what their communities and regions had to offer, including Team BC communities. Day three had tour operators present updates on their businesses to the destination marketing organizations. The event fostered great dialogue between participants, which had more 200 tour operator participants and Canada Specialists, as well as 11 key account tour operator businesses attend.
From February 23-24, Team BC attended the virtual International Media Marketplace, meeting with 16 German media and sharing inspirational content and stories with writers and media outlets to promote future travel to BC for when the time is right. Planning for the future when it’s safe to travel, there continues to be great interest in BC from the Germany market.
