The Sea to Sky Destination Management Council provided grant writing assistance to two projects applying to the federal Tourism Growth Program. Both are addressing key objectives in the Sea to Sky Destination Development Strategy—Indigenous tourism and improved travel experiences. The Britannia Mine Museum continues to develop important infrastructure that benefits the visitor experience along Highway 99 (e.g., washrooms, accessibility improvements, etc.) and the St’at’imc Powwow Society is working on capital improvements to their Powwow grounds—a celebration space taking shape near Mount Currie.
The Don’t Love it to Death campaign continues with online, digital, and social media activities, including working with influencers to share messages of responsible recreation. Signage installation is underway throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor to further reinforce the key messages of the campaign.
