At the April meeting of the Sunshine Coast Destination Management Council, the priorities for 2024-25 were confirmed, ensuring focused attention on key projects and funding opportunities. Improving transportation to, from, and within the Sunshine Coast is a key priority of the Destination Development Strategy. Continued active participation on both the south and north coast BC Ferry Advisory Committees will continue. In addition, the Council and partners at TraC will seek funding to implement projects in the Connect the Coast Active Transportation Study.
Other projects include: finalizing the 12-month visitor intercept study, completing upgrades to the Gibsons Visitor Centre, securing funding for an accommodation feasibility study and an event tourism strategy, supporting mountain biking development initiatives at Mt. Mahony, and an information kiosk in Lund.
