In support of The Great Wilderness brand launch, our Travel Media team hosted an event for travel writers representing outlets including Matador Network, Travel + Leisure, Outside Magazine, Smithsonian, AAA Explorer, and more in Los Angeles at the beginning of October.
To bring the brand to life for our guests, we enlisted the help of Canadian Geographic’s 2023 Photographer of the Year, Brandon Broderick, to lead a wildlife and nature photography workshop. Writers are increasingly required to submit photography with their stories, so this unique experience provided value to our media guests while promoting The Great Wilderness.
As a photographer based in Northern BC, Brandon shared photography tips alongside stories of his own experiences exploring and capturing the nature and wildlife that are the essence of The Great Wilderness. Stories included tracking a family of lynx through a snow-covered forest, chasing the northern lights, and standing knee-deep in a river for the perfect angle on some of the region’s most well-known waterfalls. You can explore some of Brandon’s work featured in the BC Content Hub.
Following Brandon’s presentation, media had the opportunity to practice their newly learned photography skills with Archie the Owl, who turned out to be the star of the show.
